Daylight Savings Time

Ok, so this morning the earth stood still for the space of an hour. Well, actually Daylight Savings Time just ended and the clocks moved back an hour. Being from Indiana, this is the first time that I participated in this time honored tradition. I expected more to happen, but I just got an extra hour of sleep is all. Kind of like a movie that your friends build up so much that even though it is good, you still end up disappointed.

There ain’t no other kinda music in all the world
That makes me feel quite as chill
I luv rap music
Ya know, it’s sittin’ on the top of my list
So if ya wanna hang with me, ya better believe
We’ll be jammin’ to a hip hop mix

BSU Degree At Work

Ok, so there is a short film/SNL type sketch called "Halloween at the Pitts" being passed around to different agents and producers in Hollywoodright now starring Skyler Stone and Alanna Ubach and produced by Zach Johnson.

Well,if they watch the ending credits, under boom operator they would see BSU alum Jay Plemons. I know Zach, so I just showed up to hang out and watch it, and they asked if I wanted to help.

It was really kind of weird at first, cause a few weeks ago, I had seen "Waiting..." which Alanna and Skyler were both in, and now I was mic-ing them as they did their own stuff.

The Office

Ok, since "Scrubs" (absolute best show ever) hasn't returned yet, "The Office" is currently the best and funniest show on TV. I'm talking about the American version. I tried to watch the English version, but couldn't get into because of the accents. Which is weird, cause I like the HBO so "Extras" with the creator of the English version.

Addendum

OK, so I just rode my bike to the gym listening to A Collision. It is even better through headphones. Also, it is an album that can, and is best, listened to all the way through.

A Collision or 3+4=7

Ok, so I first saw the David Crowder Band last summer at King's Island while they were on Michael W. Smith's "Healing Rain" tour. Mercy Me was also there. It was one of the best concerts I' ve seen. The best still belongs to the time I saw The Waiting/Third Day/Newsboys.

I bought their CDs, and they were excellent.

Well, I just got their new CD, "A Collision" or "3+4=11" It is a great CD, and quite possibly the best CD I have ever heard*. There are 21 tracks, and a couple of the tracks are like intermissions and stuff. Hard to describe. There is such a variety of music as well. Loretta Lynn's "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven" and Hank William Sr's "I Saw The Light", old recordings from concerts and radio programs are also mixed in the middle of it all. Just the way it is put together is incredible.

Also, nothing to do with the CD, but I just found out that David Crowder wrote the theme song/jingle for the Christian radio program "Walk in the Word" with Dr. James MacDonald.

*Rich Mullins is by far the best recording artist ever. Every song of his is excellent. There is no way that anyone can be compared to him. So I'm not including Rich when I say "A Collision" is probably the best CD I have heard.

DVR

Ok, so I got DVR today. It's like Tivo, but the guy says it's better. My life is totally changed. I can record TV shows, set it to record the whole season, and rewind and pause live TV. Say, I miss a joke, or want to see something again, I can rewind it as much as I want. Then when I get to the commercial, I can fast forward through the commercials until I catch up with the program.

Golf

Ok, so being inspired by "The Greatest Game Ever Played", I went golfing today. I did alright. It was the first time I have gone in over a year. It is a par 3 course (meaning it should only take 3 strokes to get the ball in the hole). I did it on an average of 5. But there is really only no place to go but up from there.

To be honest, I really love frisbee golf. But I don't know where any courses are around here though.

The Greatest Game Ever Played

Ok, so when I was a substitute teacher, I once had an English class that had a work sheet to do the whole period. Since I had nothing to do but 'babysit' the whole time, I started "Holes" by Louis Sachar (Sacker) that was on the teacher's desk. I started reading it because when I was in Jr. High, I had read his "Sideways Stories From Wayside School" series. When I got done reading it (5 hours later) I thought that I would want to turn "Holes" into a movie. Disney beat me to it with Shia Labeouf playing Stanley Yelnats.

I saw Shia on "Last Call with Carson Daly" while he was promoting his movie, Disney's "The Greatest Game Ever Played."

Shia plays Francis Ouimet (Wemet) a Scottish immigrant that grows up as a caddy on a golf course, and becomes one of the greatest golfers of all time. It is a really good movie. Even though I thought it has a little too much CGI, it is still a great story.
