Runyon Canyon

Well, I just got back from walking up Runyon Canyon. I try to go there about 3 or 4 times a week. It's a pretty good trail about 3 miles or so. The park is just a few blocks from my house. Here are a few pics of it that I found online.

Sushi

I just got back from a Sushi bar in West Hollywood called Katana. This was the first time I have ever had it. Well, I've eaten it once, but it was from Kroger, and it was disgusting. This however, was delicious. Man, oh man, was it delicious. I also had some eel...that was my favorite. Plus, it wasn't at expensive as I thought it was going to be. I don't know when I'll be going back, but I am definitely going to make it a goal to enjoy Sushi again.

War of the Worlds

Today was the "War of the Worlds" premiere in Hollywood. There was this deal where you could meet Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg. You had to stay in line though for a few hours. It was perfect conditions for selling water. Man, it was great. I loaded up my cooler, and I was back with an empty cooler within a half hour. Plus, I met this youth group from Florida that was here on a missions trip. They came here to witness to Cruise. Actually, today was their day off. That was cool though. I think Tom Cruise and I make a good sales team.

Tom Cruise

This is the photo that was taken by the paparazzi (See "Batman and Thomas Jefferson") while standing on my cooler. This is how close I was to him.

Wireless

Finally. I got my wireless connection today. My computer is now wireless and I can get the internet from my own computer.

George Lucas

Ok, so on June 9, I got video footage of George Lucas and Harrison Ford on my cell phone. I was told that it was some kind of award show, and Lucas was getting an award. Well, tonight they aired the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award, which is where I saw him. It was kind of weird watching an Award show, for probably my favorite movie make, that took place just a couple of blocks from my apartment.

Green Tea Frappuccino

Ok, so normally I write these as more of a journal for myself that I invite others to read to know what's going on in my life. But I am going to stray a minute and talk to you. I normally do not like giving companies free advertising, but today I had new drink from Starbucks where I work. It is a Green Tea Frappuccino. Man, it was so delicious. If you are a Starbucks fan, the next time you are there, you should really five it a try.

Washington Water Co.

Ok, so today was the first "real" day of operations for my bottled water company, the Washington Water Co. There was a "Herbie:Fully Loaded" premier today on Hollywood Blvd., so the street was crowded with thirsty fans. I did well. Tomorrow though will be a truer test of how the business will go. Today, the people were just standing in one place hoping to get a glance of Lindsay Lohan, or another star of the film. Tomorrow they will be just walking around. So, I will see what happens then.

5.3

Well, I lived through my first earth quake. It only lasted 3 seconds. I was sitting in my living room watching "Entourage" on HBO, and all of sudden the whole building started moving. At first I just thought something was happening upstairs. It was a 5.3, but they are thinking that a bigger one is going to come. So, that might be fun, we'll see.

Batman Begins

I went to see “Batman Begins” today at Mann’s Chinese Theater. I think this was the best one yet. However, it is hard to judge it against the first one or “Batman Forever” because it has been a while since I have seen them. But this is definitely a fun movie. Plus, the Batmobile used in the movie (well, one of the ones used, I presume) is parked outside of Mann’s Chinese Theater on Hollywood Blvd. right now, so that was kind of cool.

The Washington Water Co.

Well, about an hour ago, I loaded up my cooler with the 16 bottles of water that I had left from the case of 24. I bought the case a week ago with the intent to sell, but ended up drinking 8 of the bottles before I started selling. Well, after an hour on Hollywood Blvd., I sold out. And I would have sold more, but I ran out. The guy who bought the last bottle wanted to buy 2. I think this was a good start to what I hope will be a very successful venture.

Not Guilty

Well, I can’t believe it, but I actually watched FOX NEWS channel for an hour to hear the Michael Jackson verdict reading. And of course, he was found Not Guilty. I don’t know how I feel about this. I guess I don’t feel anything. I am glad that he was found not guilty, as far as I am glad that someone wasn’t sent to prison wrongfully. But other than that, I don’t think it matters either way in my life.

Philippine Independence Day

Today is Philippine Independence Day. They celebrated it at the church I went to today, The First Baptist Church of Hollywood. After church, they had Philippino food for lunch, it was pretty good. It was a pretty good church service too. It’s just a few blocks from my house. I also did my laundry for the first time since I have been here. Not that exciting, I know, but it was something that I did.

Money and The Movies

I saw “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” today at Arclight. It is pretty good, I liked it. It had action and comedy. Kind of like “Bad Boys II.” But of course, anything with Vince Vaughn is going to be good. Arclight is where I saw “Star Wars” and Alex Borstien of “Family Guy.” Movies are expensive out here. The matinee at Arclight is $11. This will probably cut back on the movies that I go to see. But that again depends on how much water I sell. There are a few movies that I really want to see this summer, “Batman Begins”, “Dukes of Hazzard”, “War of the Worlds”, “Fantastic 4”, and of course “Herbie: Fully Loaded” with Lindsay Lohan. This evening, I found another Starbucks in the Hollywood and Highland shopping center, just 5 minutes walking distance from my house. They were hiring, and I found out that I would be able to pick up some hours there if the other Starbucks doesn’t schedule me for 40 hours. That was good to find out, so I know I can get at least 40 hours from Starbucks.

Starbucks

Well, I went to my interview at Starbucks to see about getting rehired. Of course, the interview only lasted about 5 minutes before the manager decided to put me to work right away. The only thing is, she already did the schedule for next week, so I have another week off before I start working. This does give me time to get my other business venture, The Jefferson Water Co. off the ground. I have to still get a permit which will be $110 a year. I still have high hopes about this project, in spite of the fact that the first day I tried to sell water, during the “Batman Begins” premier, I didn’t do so well. But to be fair, I started right when the stars started to arrive, and everyone was so excited about all of them that they weren’t that thirsty. Also tonight, I went to the Grauman’s Chinese Theater and saw “The Longest Yard.” It was really good, although I don’t care for the $11.25 ticket price. It is better then the $14 price a few blocks away though at Arclight Theater.

Red Carpet

Well, I walked across the red carpet today. They were setting up for some kind of Award Show on Hollywood Blvd. as we were walking home, and the red carpet was out. So I walked on it. It wasn’t as glamorous as I thought it would be, but I bet it’s different when there are cameras everywhere, and people lined up on both sides. I guess I’ll find out eventually. But I know of a couple people who know how it feels. I went back down later, and there was a crowd of people on both sides. I asked someone what was going on, and some camera guy told me that George Lucas (Star Wars, Indiana Jones) was going to be walking by in a few moments. Then Steven Spielberg (War of the Worlds, Indiana Jones, E.T.) walked by, followed by Mark Hamill (Star Wars). Then after Lucas walked by, Harrison Ford (Star Wars, Indiana Jones) and his girlfriend Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal) walked by me. I was right there in front of the carpet and all of these people walked right there on the red carpet. Anyone that knows what a Star Wars fan I am, knows how great it was for me to see some of my movie heroes.

Batman and Thomas Jefferson

Ok, so I am starting this water company, The Jefferson Water Co., where I sell bottled water on Hollywood Blvd. I am selling water for $2 a bottle, and Jefferson is on the $2 bill, that is where the name comes from. Anyway, there was the premiere for Batman Begins tonight, and while I was walking around with my cooler, Tom Cruise walked across the street from the premier. And I stood just a few feet from him. Plus, some paparazzi stood on my cooler to take a picture of Tom. So he is going to send me a pic through email, and when I get it, I will try to find a way to put the picture on here.
