Home Again, Finnegan

Well, I have once again made the once-in-a-life-time, 2,000 mile trip from Indianapolis to Los Angeles. I was not really looking forward to it, but I actually enjoyed it. I had a bunch of music and some stand up comedy to listen to. The scenery was pretty awesome too.

I also had Wal-Mart every 200 miles or so to stop at and walk around. I called it the Wal-Mart Tour 2005. And I can say from experience that where ever you are, the atmosphere in Wal-Mart is pretty much the same in every store.

The second night on my trip I stopped at the Wal-Mart in Kingman, AZ and spent the night in the parking lot. How many people can say that they drove from IN to CA by themselves, and how many can say that they have spent the night in the Wal-Mart parking lot. I think that qualifies me as a minority. I am going to look into getting some government grants for that.

Now I'm planning on a cross country road trip from LA to NY.

  • How can you stand walking through Wal*Mart?! All those Bush stickers everywhere, and the mullets!!

    Don't you work, anyway?

  • I think a lot of people can say they've made the trip. You're planning on going to NY with gas at the price it is? Hope you got some $$$ socked away.

And, of all places... Wal Mart. I hope you didn't buy anything.

I'd be more impressed if it were "unknown local store Tour 2005." Instead, you've taken up a trip that can be best symbolized with a fat American eating a hot dog, sipping a Pepsi, and big mustard stains on his Chicago Bears T-Shirt.

  • I work, but I took a week off to go back to Indy to get my car. I chose Wal-Mart cause it's always open, and I like consitency. Yes, I did buy stuff. A Bush sticker from every one I stopped at.
